PR College of Nursing was established in the year 2005 under the Sri Veerabhadra Swamy Educational Trust. The education in this college is given considering the changes in latest syllabus and trends of nursing study. The nursing study is a professional based education. Every teacher instructs the nurses influentially so that they can achieve the level of potential to work in any healthcare firm. There are two courses offered by PR College of Nursing which are Basic B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and is approved by Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council.
PR College of Nursing aspires the young minds to enter in the field health care by the high standard of education that it provides. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is an undergraduate course of 2 years. This course is taken up after General Nursing and Midwifery course by the students to upgrade their knowledge and skills. The course is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The program is structured to prepare professional nurses who are competent and skilled.
This course gives an advantage to the students to join Masters as they do not have to take one-year work experience like B.Sc. nursing course students. Immediately after this course, the students are eligible to take up M.Sc. nursing course. The students need to be registered nurses after a diploma program in nursing from Indian Nursing Council recognized Institute of nursing, to be enrolled in this course.
