Overview
Christian College of Nursing was started in the year 2003 with an aim of benefitting the healthcare service. The college is approved by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Indian Nursing Council and Karnataka Nursing Council with an objective of providing fine education to young people especially the weaker section of society. The Christian College of Nursing is under the management of Christian Group of Institution and this group provides various courses and programs where nursing is the one. The college aims to provide a group of expertise to facilitate smooth learning environment and to set a standard in the nursing education field.
The Christian Group of Institution was set up in 2000 which is run by Sri Raja Ram Mohan Roy Education Trust. The mission of the institute is to render students who are ambitious and competitive in their field. The college takes in those students who are determined to tackle any challenges in the nursing field. The institute aims to prepare the students to meet the demands of the future. The philosophy of the institute is that ‘Learning Should be Continued forever’ as everyone has right to education, so the college provides equal opportunity to everyone.
The college entertains students from many countries. There are many students, especially from Nepal. This enables the students to mingle with people from different culture and society. The main thing is that this college is very much strict when it comes to rules and regulations. Students must wear the uniform provided by the college with no ornaments except small ear studs and hair accessories.
Regularity and punctuality are the keys to the success of the entire team of this college. There is attendance taken in every period to make sure students are having their full classes. There is a provision of paying the whole course fee if a student wants to leave the course in the middle of the study as per the rules so that there may be no one to put down their study except in certain circumstances.

Post graduate degree in Nursing is taken after completion of B.Sc. Nursing course. Students who are interested in academics and research work take up this course. Students are also given the option of 5 specialities under this course. The students are to submit a dissertation for the completion of the course. The specialization is done by the nurses who work in patient care units, ambulatory care units, surgical centers, emergency care units etc. The nurses of this specialization deal with the health of adult patients. The nurses of this field are to study about medicines as well, as they are to look after the medication of the patients.
This area of nursing deals with women in their age from puberty till menopause. The nurses of this field give care to women who have health issues regarding their reproductive system like during pregnancy, child labor, birth etc. The nurses of this area work in maternity wards.
The nurses are to pursue a diploma or a degree related to women’s health and obstetrics to become OB/GYN nurses. Minimum of 2 years of experiences is needed to sit for NCC Inpatient Obstetric Nursing certification Examination and become a certified OB/GYN nurse.
The nurses trained in this area are involved in healthcare of the community. They work in rural and urban community healthcare centers. The community health nurses are responsible for the health of an entire community. To become a community health nurse, one needs to be a registered nurse by getting a degree and by sitting for the exam of National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. The nurses also need to have work experience for several years.
This area specializes in giving health care to infants and children. The nurses are given training in giving care to children or infants with health issues. To practice nursing of this area, the nurses needs to be a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree.
also known as mental health nursing is a course where the nurses specialize in mental health and care for people who are suffering from mental illness. Nurses of this area get training in psychological therapies. A psychiatric nurse is required to be a registered nurse and specialize in mental health. This type of nurse work in mental institutes, psychiatric hospitals, mental asylums etc.
